Five ways kids can protect the environment

  1. Read. Learn as much as you can about our planet's animals and environments to give you ideas about how you can help solve problems.
  2. Speak up. Talk to your friends and family about helping the environment. Suggest family activities that involve animals and nature.
  3. Don't litter. Always put your trash away where it won't harm an animal. Pick up any garbage you see and put it in a garbage can.
  4. Plant something. Some public libraries have seed libraries that you can borrow seeds from. Plant a vegetable or a flower. The bees will thank you!
  5. Recycle. Before throwing something in the garbage, think of what other uses it could have. Make something new, or try a science experiment with discarded items.
