Biography

Kathleen was born and raised in Campbellton, New Brunswick where she spent most of her time haunting the public library. After graduating from Sugarloaf Senior High School, she studied graphic design at the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design. While at NBCCD, she twice had illustrations published in Applied Arts (Canada's visual communications magazine).

Kathleen's first novel, Hemlock, is a supernatural mystery for young adults. It has been published in Canada, the US, the UK, Australia and New Zealand. Foreign language editions have also been published in Turkey and France.

How has New Brunswick influenced your work?

I grew up sitting in New Brunswick classrooms and haunting New Brunswick libraries. Though the town in my first book is fictional, it was inspired by Fredericton (and I wrote that book while living and working in Saint John).
