I grew up as an army Brat and lived in Germany for four years as a child. We lived right across the street from a beautiful cemetery in a tiny community near Verl, Germanyó maybe that had something to do with my interest in writing about vampires? I was born in St. Stephen, then returned in grade eight and finished school there. I graduated from St. Stephen High School.

I currently write paranormal romance, romantic suspense and romance. Thereís a definite theme going on there. Iím lucky that my family always encourages my artistic endeavours, no matter what they might be. My husband has always supported my desire to write and has done whatever he can to make it possible. I have two grown children, a son and a daughter, several nieces and nephews who also follow my career. Iíve dabbled at many things, but writing is my true passion, the one creative venture that I donít put aside to do something else.

How has New Brunswick influenced your work?

I grew up in the New Brunswick School system and fell in love with writing in grade five when creative writing was introduced. Iíve had several English teachers who over the years inspired me to write.

What is your favourite New Brunswick book, and why?

Maggie Muggins by Mary Grannan of New Brunswick was my favorite from the time I was a child. I was also a huge fan of W.E.D. Ross, Gothic romance (and historical) author from Saint John, N.B. And Flora Kidd, Harlequin author, Saint John, N.B., a friend and mentor who I certainly miss. Iíve definitely been influenced by these authors who are all time favorites of mine.

What do you consider to be the highlight of your career so far?

Winning both the Daphne du Maurier and the Prism Awards have been highlights in my career. They are very sought after awards and I was thrilled to win.
