Biography

A creative free-spirit, Judy Cole is an experienced writer, communicator and former weekly newspaper reporter and editor. She grew up in the country in a remote yet picturesque community of Kirkland in rural New Brunswick. Her friendship with and fondness for animals became a lifelong passion, one that she has shared with her family throughout the years. She is now the author of four children's books in the Tiggy Tiger series.

How has New Brunswick influenced your work?

My books are set in the place where I grew up in New Brunswick. The setting and the feeling in the books revolve around the way of life in rural New Brunswick. They are animal stories meant to entertain and enlighten children with life lessons while also describing the visual surroundings of rural New Brunswick.

What is your favourite New Brunswick book, and why?

I do not have a favourite New Brunswick book although I have looked at the works of Sheree Fitch.

What do you consider to be the highlight of your career so far?

Becoming a published children's author in New Brunswick has been very challenging at times. But there are great rewards in knowing and seeing the children enjoy the books and asking excitedly for Tiggy Tiger when they come to a bookstore or library.
