Biography

I was born in Saint-Basile, N.B., and studied visual arts at Université de Moncton, where I obtained a bachelor’s degree in 1981.

I have produced six animated films, including Maille Maille (1987), which earned me an excellence award at the Atlantic Film Festival in Halifax in 1987, as well as a Silver Apple Award at the National Educational Film and Video Festival in Oakland, California, in 1989.

Two of my other films, Joséphine (2000) and PSSST (2003) each earned the Prix Éloizes, awarded by the Association acadienne des artistes professionnel.le.s du Nouveau-Brunswick (AAAPNB).

I have written three stories: Le petit chaperon mauve (1995), Rose neige et les six nains : un nain croyable conte (2000), and Ma gribouille tigrée (2006).

I am also an illustrator and visual artist.

How has New Brunswick influenced your work?

My influence has not come from New Brunswick, but from traditional folktales.

What do you consider to be the highlight of your career so far?

The publication of my first story Le petit chaperon mauve, which was self-published in 1995. This book made a name for me in New Brunswick, and it is still very popular and in great demand to this day.
