As a former entrepreneur and small business owner, Andrew Harvey understands the economy in rural New Brunswick.

Mr. Harvey’s business operations employed local people in the maple syrup industry, at his restaurant, the Sugar Moon Cookhouse, and in the production of Christmas Wreaths and other forest products.

Mr. Harvey believes in giving back to his community, having served as a municipal councillor with the Village of Bristol, as a member of the Carleton Co-op Board of Directors and as a member of the Bath Lions Club.

He is committed to working with business and community leaders to create new employment opportunities, employment through innovation, and adding value to our traditional resource sectors and tourism.

Mr. Harvey was elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick for Carleton-Victoria in 2014, and re-elected in the provincial election of 2018. In 2016 he chaired the Legislative Assembly’s Select Committee on Climate Change, and in 2017 served as a member of the Select Committee on Cannabis.

In September 2017, Mr. Harvey was named Minister of Agriculture, Mines and Rural Affairs and in May 2018, was named Minister of Environment and Local Government. Mr. Harvey is currently a member of the Standing Committee on Estimates and Fiscal Policy, and the Opposition Advocate for Economic Development, Opportunities New Brunswick and the Regional Development Corporation.

Mr. Harvey is married to Twyla and they have three children; Jenna, Kristyn and Nicholas, and one grandson, Oliver.
