Employment Opportunities with Elections N.B.
The Returning Officer for each electoral district or region is responsible for hiring all workers needed during an election.
ALL workers must be eligible to vote, but an exception is made for otherwise eligible high school students who are 16 or 17 years old. High school students must have permission from their school and parents to work during school hours.
Please note that, to be employed by Elections NB, you must agree to refrain from any partisan political activity during the term of your employment.
In local government elections, a family associate (spouse, parent, child, or brother or sister) of a candidate, or that candidate’s spouse, cannot work as an election officer in a polling station or returning office where the candidate is on the ballot.
Eligible electors may apply directly to a returning office for employment, by telephoning the office, or by completing the online application form below.
