Environment
The area which supplies the City of Fredericton with drinking water has been designated a protected area under the Wellfield Protected Area Designation Order – Clean Water Act. The designation means there are now limitations on the quantities of petroleum and chemicals that can be stored in the protected area, as well as some limitations on land-use activities.
