Metepenagiag Heritage Park, a world-class cultural tourism facility, will be constructed in Metepenagiag, thanks to a partnership between the Metepenagiag Mi'kmaq Nation, the Province of New Brunswick and the Government of Canada.
On hand for the announcement were, from left, Brad Green, New Brunswick minister responsible for Aboriginal Affairs; Premier Bernard Lord; Pam Ward, executive director, Metepenagiag Heritage Park; Chief Noah Augustine, Metepenagiag Mi'kmaq Nation, and Andy Scott, federal minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development and federal interlocutor for Métis and Non-Status Indians.
