Premier Bernard Lord and Intergovernmental and International Relations Minister Percy Mockler were presented with a plaque by Louise Castonguay, regional director of the Red Cross, honouring the New Brunswick government’s exemplary contribution to the tsunami relief campaign. Hundreds of thousands of families in Southeast Asia whose lives were affected by the tragedy in December 2004 received considerable assistance.   New Brunswick was the first Canadian province to contribute to the relief fund. In addition, the people of New Brunswick generously contributed more than $2 million to the fund.
