Local Government
The Department of Local Government’s strategic plan was released April 1, along with new visuals, which are welcoming to stakeholders. These products represent the department’s vision to provide provincial leadership in support of viable, vibrant and self-sufficient communities. As the department is the foremost link with communities at the provincial level, its five-year strategic plan recognizes the important nature of its relationships with communities and their representatives, as well as its responsibility to develop a long-term framework to support policies, programs and practices to meet emerging community needs.
