Premier Shawn Graham and Public Safety Minister and Solicitor General John Foran paid tribute to 'J' Division's Royal Canadian Mounted Police during proceedings in the legislature today, in celebration of the 75th anniversary of RCMP service in New Brunswick.  Lionel LaFrenière, 99 years of age, has the senior most regimental number (11242) of all living members of the RCMP. LaFrenière joined RCMP "J" Division in 1939. It was a proud achievement: he served in New Brunswick for over 25 years.
