Description | As part of the conference organized by the Socit historique acadienne on Acadian history to be held on Saturday, February 16, 2013, the curator of the Muse acadien at the Universit de Moncton, Jeanne Mance Cormier, will give a presentation on the transfer of knowledge through museums entitled Classes scolaires en mouvances la transmission musale depuis 20 ans. Looking back at the transfer of knowledge of our Acadian heritage in the classroom, we quickly realize that there have been many changes over the years. From the traditional guided tour to the whiteboard, museums are trying to adapt. The way that culture is passed on is changing, and historical object collections and archival records are still at the core of that transfer. Biography: Jeanne Mance Cormier has worked at the Muse acadien of the Universit de Moncton for 24 years. Over the past few years, she has developed and contributed to several projects on educational media in relation to the Acadian material culture. For more than 11 years, she has delivered the museum's educational program to New Brunswick students. (in French only) |
