Description Mus�e acadien of the Universit� de Moncton
The museum is located in the Cl�ment-Cormier building at the Universit� de Moncton on the Moncton campus and is open year-round. It is home to the permanent exhibit The Acadian Adventure and other temporary exhibits. There are also guided tours and historical films and documentaries. Information: 506-858-4088
The permanent exhibit of the Mus�e acadien of the Universit� de Moncton is a dynamic and innovative presentation of the history of Acadie in Atlantic Canada and of its material culture and heritage. Among the objects on exhibit are the cornerstone (1723) from the church of the former Acadian village of Beaubassin, the first Acadian flag (1884), the cane of the first Acadian senator, Pascal Poirier (1852-1933), the boxing gloves that Yvon Durelle wore in his match with Archie Moore (1958), as well as the costume worn by Viola L�ger for her first character performances as la Sagouine.
