The Memory Café  is the last Thursday of the month 2-4 pm for caregiver or patients with Alzheimer's disease or any form of dementia.

Socialize with others who are patients, caregivers and family members. Caregivers may come with or without the dementia/Alzheimer’s patient to the monthly sessions. New members are always welcome from McGivney to Renous as well as anyone visiting the area.

Lynsey Willson Norrad, RSW with Region 3 Horizon Health, organizes education talks each month that are short, but informative for caregivers so they are aware of coping skills and the latest in medications and strategies to improve the well being of patients. Sarah Carson-Pond, RN will be doing a demonstration on foot care.

Sharon is planning St. Patrick's activities so bring your loved one out for a fun afternoon. Wearing green is an option. Bev and Linda Gaston will be singing. During the action-packed session one lucky dementia patient will win a twiddle mitt thanks to the donations by knitters throughout the province. Learn more about Alzheimer ’s disease and other forms of dementia by selecting material for the book exhibit.

Learn more about the new Caregivers Support Network that started on February 6.  It will be the first Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm in the Library’s Board Room.  Also watch for information on the second annual Alzheimer’s Walk in May.
