Public libraries regularly open on Mondays and administrative offices will be closed Monday October 2, 2023. Talking Books Service by Mail will also be suspended. Public libraries not regularly open on Mondays will be closed Saturday September 30, 2023.

About the Office

The York Regional Office oversees the development and delivery of library services by providing professional, technical and administrative expertise and support to the various service points.

The regional office manages the regional budget and human resources; coordinates the rollout of provincial programs, services and training in its region; develops and coordinates the rollout of regional programs, services and training; manages and delivers centralized services such as collections development and management, technical services (i.e. the processing of library materials for circulation). The regional office is responsible for maintaining a liaison role with public library boards and participating municipalities, and fostering the development of strategic and operational plans at the local level. Within the provincial framework, regional offices are responsible for the development of regional strategies and initiatives to ensure the implementation of the provincial vision.
