Biography
Dusty Phillips is a Canadian author and software developer based in Smithtown, NB. He has published three non-fiction works on software development and maintains a sporadic presence as a tech blogger. He also dabbles in science fiction and fantasy.
Dusty's career as a software developer has included everything from two-person tech startups to the world's largest government and the world's largest social network. Alongside his wife, Jennifer, Dusty is co-creator of the popular Fablehenge authoring platform for fiction authors.
How has New Brunswick influenced your work?
New Brunswick is such a calming and relaxing place in which to exist. Being surrounded by such wonderful people makes me want to be a better person The juxtaposition of trees, rocks, and water in every part of the province is always a breathtaking view.
What is your favourite New Brunswick book, and why?
I quite enjoyed the gentle humour and entertaining mystery in Zev Bagel's The Romanian Cleaning Lady.
What do you consider to be the highlight of your career so far?
Ask me about the time I broke Facebook... oh, you mean my writing career. It's always whatever I've most recently written, as I'm always striving to improve.
