Biography

Riel Nason grew up in Hawkshaw, NB and now lives in Quispamsis with her husband and two children. She graduated from Nackawic High School a long time ago.



How has New Brunswick influenced your work?

I am pretty much a life-long New Brunswicker. I can't imagine setting the books I write anywhere else.

What is your favourite New Brunswick book, and why?

Mercy Among the Children and The Bay of Love and Sorrows both by David Adams Richards.

What do you consider to be the highlight of your career so far?

Winning the Commonwealth Book Prize for Canada and Europe for The Town That Drowned.
