![History History](../images/History.png)
During the planning process for the construction of Centre Communautaire Sainte Anne, a space was reserved for a library for the local French school, École Sainte-Anne. The local community had expressed a need for a public library, so the Centre’s Committee made it a priority. The library is therefore financed by three partners: the New Brunswick Public Library Service (York Region), the Centre Communautaire Sainte Anne, and the school district. The library was named in honour of Dre. Marguerite Michaud for her contribution to the field of education and her engagement with and for the French community in Fredericton. The library was officially named after her on November 16, 1978.
