Martine Coulombe
Minister of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour Martine Coulombe (Restigouche-la-Vallée) is originally from Saint-Quentin, where she currently lives. She has been a small business owner for 35 years and is an active member of her community. Ms. Coulombe has also been a member of the board of directors of the Caisse Populaire de Saint-Quentin, and has directed plays with the Vieille Tapisserie theatre troupe in Saint-Quentin since September 2009. In 1995, Ms. Coulombe had her first experience in politics when she served as official agent of the Progressive Conservative candidate for Restigouche West. Her commitment to the parent committee for A.-J.-Savoie High School and Mgr-Martin School has not gone unnoticed. With her husband, a few parents, and a group of young teenagers from A.-J.-Savoie High School, she formed the founding committee for the Maison des jeunes de Saint-Quentin. She has also been a committee member for the foresters’ ball, a benefit for youth organizations including judo and minor hockey clubs in Saint-Quentin. She volunteered for several years at the biggest tourism event in her region, the Festival Western de St-Quentin. Married for 35 years to Patrice Coulombe, she is the mother of three children, Dany, Hélène, and Christine. She also has two grandchildren, Alex and Bianka. She was elected to the Legislative Assembly on September 27, 2010. On October 12 she was sworn in as Minister of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour. |
