Environment
Students at the Belledune School in Belledune plant a tree that they were presented with for receiving the 2003 Environmental Leadership Award in the Youth Group category. They are joined by Environment and Local Government Minister Brenda Fowlie. The award is given by the department for outstanding environmental contributions. This tree will serve as a living legacy to publicly acknowledge the recipient’s efforts, and to encourage those who visit the areas where the trees are planted, to take similar action on behalf of the environment.
