Public Safety
Two motor coaches that will be used at the 2010 Olympics in British Columbia have been approved for the trip by the Department of Public Safety’s Commercial Vehicle Enforcement (CVE) unit. The buses were inspected for compliance with North American safety criteria from the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance. In addition to the twice-annual motor vehicle inspections, the CVE program has expanded its services to include proactive inspection/enforcement specific to motor coaches. This year, the unit has inspected about 70 buses in various areas of the province.
