New Brunswick Fisheries Minister Rick Doucet, right, is greeted in Dublin, Ireland by Pat Binns, former premier of Prince Edward Island and Canada’s Ambassador to Ireland. Doucet is the new ambassador’s first official visitor since taking up his post last week. The fisheries minister is in Ireland attending the 2007 World Seafood Congress. During the meeting with Ambassador Binns, Doucet discussed opportunities for New Brunswick seafood in Ireland and other European markets, as well as similarities that exist between Ireland’s fishing industry and that of New Brunswick.
