Constructed in c.1900;
Designated Historic in 1979

This is a turn-of-the-century Edwardian structure common in central Canada but rare in New Brunswick. It is closely associated with Dr. George F. Clarke, author, historian, amateur archaeologist and dentist.

Hartland Covered Bridge
Hartland, Carleton County

Constructed from 1901 to 1921;
Designated Historic in 1999

Though famous for its length, the Howe truss structure and unadorned style make this span typical of New Brunswick covered bridges. Built as a private toll crossing in 1901, it was rebuilt and covered in 1920-1921.
