The Busy Bee Quilters group welcomes new members or anyone visiting the Greater Doaktown area at their quilting bees and meetings. During the fall they plan to meet every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 6 pm to 8 pm. Don’t forget your favourite needle and thimble! Enjoy a few hours of quilting while chatting with other quilters.
You will be invited to try small quilting projects as you learn new and used creative techniques in a pleasant environment. Often they also have a quilt in the frames so you can learn to hand quilt and sometimes they create a quilt top as a group. Some bring in projects to work on as they socialize. Of course, tea and coffee will be nearby on as you chat with fellow quilters. It is an excellent way to collect information from the experts.
Quilting books and magazines will be on display that you may check out using your New Brunswick Public Library Service membership card. Ask the library staff about additional quilting magazines and books available at public libraries in New Brunswick as they will place holds or show you how to do it from your home computer.
