Biography

I was born in Quebec and have lived in New Brunswick since 1991. I have been a radio host for Radio-Canada Atlantique since 1988. I have also done some television. I hosted the only authorized documentary during the 1999 Francophonie Summit. My greatest passion is reading. I have a bachelor’s degree in French Studies and in Education.

How has New Brunswick influenced your work?

New Brunswick is my adopted home. I have lived here for two decades and I feel good here. I am originally from Quebec, but I am sure I have Acadian roots, as my mother was born a Doucet and my father a Boucher.

I hope to have inherited the strength, courage and perseverance of the Acadian people. They are to be admired and they inspire me with a wealth of values that I want to pass on to my only daughter.

What do you consider to be the highlight of your career so far?

My literary career is very young. I am thrilled to have been invited to Le salon du livre de la Péninsule Acadienne and the Frye Festival where I was able to meet other authors and particularly young children who wanted to have wonderful stories read to them and to let their imagination roam.

Une bévue de Zarah–Violette
(2005)
Excerpt:

Je me sentais tellement triste et humiliée. Et j’avais peur de ne pas avoir assez de courage pour revenir en classe les autres jours. Je n’aimais vraiment pas être la risée de l’école. Heureusement, Giroflée était là pour me soutenir. Ella m’a aidée à trouver un plan pour cacher ces ridicules poils multicolores.
