How has New Brunswick influenced your work?

New Brunswick has been my home for most of my sixty-three years. I love just about everything about it. It has obviously inspired me, in view of the immense body of work I have produced here.

What is your favourite New Brunswick book, and why?

My favourite New Brunswick book is one of my own books, namely Straight Walk, for a number of reasons, most notably for the way it chose me as vehicle for coming into being.

What do you consider to be the highlight of your career so far?

Having come from rural New Brunswick, educated in a one-room ramshackle school through my formative years, to twice being included in forums alongside the Dalai Lama by invitation. Also, having my work read at the United Nations University for Peace.

Also, the ongoing production of hundreds/thousands of poems yearly – a 40+ year phenomenon!

Being a catalyst in helping motivate numerous others in the pursuit of literary endeavors.
